Volvo Polestar WTCC Pavilion
-
30 years after that Volvo won the European Touring Car Championship, Volvo Polestar announced a multi-year FIA WTCC programme to get back on the international racetracks with a clear ambition to claim the World Championship title. With the strategy set, Polestar turned to us with the mission to develop a touring hospitality concept. "Polestar is defined by an ambition to be among the top contenders in world motorsport and to bring forward the strength and agility inherent in Volvo Cars. Whether it’s winning championships, or developing performance cars, the goal is always the same: To deliver the best possible results. No matter what." With this statement as guidance we developed and produced a modular pavilion concept with sea freight containers as base construction but customised to suit as a premium hospitality pavilion once implemented. The two 40' containers fitted all material for the pavilion, including two display cars, making it an versatile, logistics-smart, true popup concept. Using the ground floor as public product exhibition, and the first floor for those who has the desire for a deeper knowledge about the Polestar engineering philosophy the pavilion has something for everyone. World class coffee and pastries was served in the pavilion under the brand "Refuel Café", which guests could enjoy looking out over the WTCC activation area. Polestar´s racing strategy for year one in the WTCC was to learn for the next coming years, which was well achieved with a first place for Thed Björk in the Race of China. We thank Polestar for the confident they've put in us, and good luck in the upcoming editions of the World Touring Car Championship.
